The advantages & disadvantages of free online portfolio websites.
ADVANTAGES:
Below, is a portfolio i find particularly eye-catching and efficient. It is a very sleek design, and the transitions between clicking on different things is very smooth. the background colours have been selected to tie in with their designs and it works really well. The content in particular is specifically impressive to me, I really like the images and ideas behind them. It is very simple and easy to use and explore and well titled and created. They've included a very easy way of contacting them through email and there are also very easy and simple ways of linking to their facebook and flickr pages. Overall, it's extremely user friendly, not over-complicated and simple to access and it looks very sleek and professional.

Below, is a online portfolio that i don't particularly like. It's mainly due to the content. i don't find any of the images or the work interesting or eyecatching. And because the images and the illustrations are very child orientated and this narrows the target audience down the way it is presented and the colours are made to link with this. It's very basic and the ways to contact are easy to find although I just don't like what they are presenting.

2. The web hosting is free.
3. Easy to set-up and load art to.
4. Able to market from that platform to social media.
5. The web host promotes their site to attract visitors.
DISADVANTAGES:
1. Part of a community of other artists.
2. Difficult to find your website/art portfolio.
3. The art is commingled with ads and other artist’s art.
4. In most cases Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is not possible.
5. Being free usually means that there are limitations on design and size.
